ANNUAL-MEETING-5.18.23-1A virtual meeting has been scheduled with the City for 6/29 at 7 pm in regard to the proposed trail that would run from the new firehouse to the Commons. Director of Parks & Recreation Cathy Salgado, Transportation Directory Wendy Block Sanford, and Transportation Capital Projects Manager Christina Alexander will attend. They will describe the proposed trail in as much detail as possible. The City does not yet have detailed plans, at this point they are only preparing to submit the application for funding.
After the meeting, CCHCA will survey the neighbor for opinions on the project and present a written summary to the City.
Please try to attend if all possible. Meeting details are below.
Below is a link to the high-level project plan.

The City would like your input on a proposed project to construct an approximate 650-foot (0.12 mi) long pedestrian and bicycle trail between Country Club Hills Commons and Fairfax Boulevard. At this point, the City has developed only a general concept plan that shows the approximate alignment of the trail. The detailed engineering and aesthetic details would be completed if/when the City receives the funding (in 2026). There is a long lead time on transportation funding, which is why we are applying for funding in 2020 that would not be available to us until 2026.
City Request for Feedback
The city is requesting your feedback on the project at this conceptual stage, prior to the submission of the application August 2020. If the City is awarded funding for this project, there will be discussion and coordination with adjacent property owners and the surrounding communities at the commencement of the design process in 2026.
Please visit www.fairfaxva.gov/countryclubconnector for information about the proposed project and a link to submit comments.
Please feel free to contact me with any questions or comments.
Sincerely,
Wendy Sanford
Transportation Director
